NEW ORLEANS, La. - Wilberforce University freshman Adam Mendoza was honored by the HBCUAC for his play on the diamond last week, the league announced today(February 17, 2026). 

"It's nice to see one of our players earned recognition from the conference," said Wilberforce Baseball Coach Roosevelt Barnes. "Adam showed patience at the plate and came up with some big at-bats for us. I am looking forward to seeing his continued growth this season." 

Mendoza was a key cog offensively as the Bulldogs went 2-0 on the week. The middle infielder slashed .500/.714/.500 with two RBI and a pair of stolen bases.  

Wilberforce returns to action 1 p.m. Wednesday, hosting Alice Lloyd in a doubleheader at Athletes in Action.
