Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule
Wilberforce University Head Volleyball Coach Jasmine Coleman has announced the Bulldogs' schedule for the upcoming 2026 season, marking her third year leading the program.
The Bulldogs will host six home matches this season, including five HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) conference contests as they look to continue building momentum and competing for a conference tournament berth.
Wilberforce opens the season August 14-15 at the Forrester Invitational, hosted by Huntington University, where the Bulldogs will compete in four matches over two days. The team will play eight consecutive road matches before returning to campus for its home opener against HBCUAC opponent Tougaloo 1 p.m. September 19.
The Bulldogs will celebrate Senior Day 1 p.m. October 24 when they host Fisk. Wilberforce will conclude its home schedule the following day with its annual Black Out Match 4 p.m. October 25.
"This schedule is a building block as we push our youthful program forward," said Coleman. "Our goal is simple; to get one percent better every time we touch the ball. We don't focus on the outcome; we focus on the process and our commitment to each other We excel, raise the bar, and our end goal is forever rising."
Wilberforce returns several key contributors from last season, led by senior Jamika Coleman, who paced the Bulldogs with 131 kills. Coleman also showcased her versatility by stepping into the setter role when needed, providing leadership and stability throughout the season.
Also returning for the Bulldogs are junior Jamaya Johnson, junior Mackenzie Anderson, and sophomore Genesis Canuto, all of whom are expected to play significant roles as Wilberforce aims to take another step forward in 2026.
With a blend of experienced leadership and emerging talent, the Bulldogs are poised for an exciting season as they prepare to compete against conference and regional opponents throughout the fall.
