NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Wilberforce University women's basketball scored seven of the first nine points, led start to finish, in beating Fisk Monday 83-68 in the Bulldogs' HBCUAC finale.
Wilberforce has now won three straight games headiing into Thursday's regular season finale.
Five players reached double figures, led by junior Makyla Tucker's 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting with four assists and three rebounds. The six three-pointers were a career-high for the sharpshooter.
Junior Asia Cochran came off the bench for 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals, while sophomore Laniya Early added 17 points with four rebounds.
Seniors Dreann Pryce and Constance Chaplin finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Wilberforce (6-12 overall, 4-7 HBCUAC) hosts Simmons 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
