NEW ORLEANS – For the third time this season, freshman Skyaqui Howard has earned weekly recognition from the HBCUAC, the league announced today (Tuesday, October 7, 2025).  

Howard was named the HBCUAC Freshman of the Week, making it back-to-back for the harrier.  

"Sky is having a historic season for the school, and the best has yet to come," said Wilberforce Head Coach Dean Freitag. "His training is coming together at the right time. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do as he peaks for conference and Nationals." 

Howard was the top Wilberforce runner in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational Friday, completing the 8K course in 29:41.1.  

Wilberforce returns to action Thursday, October 16 for the HBCUAC Championships in Decatur, Ala.
