Sherrer Claims the 200, Again
WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Back-to-back for sophomore Kendrick Sherrer.
For the second consecutive week, the sprinter topped a field littered with Division II talent in claiming the 200-meter dash as the Wilberforce track & field team competed at the Joshua Culbreath Invitational, hosted by Central State University.
Sherrer covered the distance in 22.02 and also finished second in the 100-meter dash with the time of 10.84 seconds.
Four other Bulldogs – freshman Devin Hannah (23.68), junior Israel Malone (24.08), freshman Deveyon Chapman (24.29), and freshman Darius Paige (25.94) - competed in the 200 meter dash. Hannah (11.58) and Chapman (12.09) competed in the 100.
Freshman Mario Seats competed in the 800 with the time of 2:06.16. Junior Israel Malone placed third in the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters.
On the women's side, sophomore Cyaire Baker finished the 200 in 3:00.24.
Wilberforce heads to its final tune up before the HBCUAC Championships, traveling to Louisville for the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational.
