Senior Eduardo Diaz scored his 1,000 collegiate points as four players reached double figures in a blowout victory, 91-54, over Simmons Thursday inside the Gaston F. Lewis Arena.  

Diaz, who finished with 22 points, scored nine points during the game-changing 20-0 run that was capped by a dunk and three-pointer from junior Zach Brown. The run expanded to 33-5 and the Wilberforce halftime lead was 28 points. 

Two players – senior Jesse Olverson, Jr. and junior Preston Steele – each finished with double-doubles. Olverson scored 15 points with 15 rebounds, and Steele dropped 10 points with 10 boards.  

Junior Daiquan Coach led the team with 25 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe. He added five steals, three rebounds, and two assists.

• Diaz scored 561 points in his two collegiate seasons at Palm Beach State and has scored 445 points in his two seasons at Wilberforce.  

• Coach has led the team in scoring in five of the last seven games.  

• Wilberforce went 5-1 in the month of February. 

• Olverson has been the leading rebounders in five of the last six games.

Wilberforce (10-12 overall, 4-7 HBCUAC) will be either the East Division's fourth or fifth seed and will learn its opponent when the HBCUAC Tournament bracket is revealed Sunday.
