NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Wilberforce University men's basketball team fell to Fisk Monday, 62-59, in the HBCUAC finale.
Following a basket by junior Daiquan Coach, the Bulldogs had a two-point lead with 3:05 remaining. Unfortunately, that was the last time Wilberforce scored. The Bulldogs missed a pair of potential game-tying three-pointers in the final 10 seconds.
Junior Daiquan Coach led the team with 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting with four rebounds and three steals. Senior Eduardo Diaz added 10 points, four rebounds, two steals, and two assists.
Senior Jesse Olverson, Jr. continues to hit the glass with regularity, pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds – eight of which were on the defensive end.
Wilberforce (9-12 overall, 4-7 HBCUAC) concludes the regular season 7:30 p.m. Thursday, hosting Simmons.
