Juniors DaiQuan Coach and Germainn Marshall combined for 35 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Wilberforce University men's basketball team fell to Lourdes University, 74-86, Wednesday in non-conference action inside the Gaston F. Lewis Arena.  

Coach led the way with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting with five rebounds and three assists, while Marshall added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.  

The game turned in the second half as the Gray Wolves used an 18-4 second-half run to open a 14-point lead midway through the final half.  

Undeterred, the Bulldogs responded with a run of their own. Coach and freshman Kamar Bridges-Miller scored four points each as Wilberforce tallied 10 of the next 11 points to get to within five.  

However, that would be as close as Wilberforce would get in the contest.  

Wilberforce led for most of the first half, leading by as much as seven in the half. But the Gray Wolves wouldn't allow the host to run away as was a Donavin Baker basket away from being tied at the half. However, the Baker turnaround jumper enabled the Bulldogs to have the two-point halftime lead.  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

• Coach has scored at least 20 points in a pair of games this season and reached double figures in all four games.  

• Marshall has scored double figures in three of four games. The eight rebounds were a season high.  

• Wilberforce has lost all six meetings with Lourdes.  

• The Wilberforce reserves outscored their counterparts, 22-17. 

• Both teams scored 42 points in the paint.
