NEW ORLEANS, LA – Wilberforce University sophomore Christopher Alcantara-Diaz has earned a spot on the preseason HBCUAC Baseball team, the league announced.  

The reigning HBCUAC Freshman of the Year was named first team All-HBCUAC. The designated hitter slashed .411/.535/.684 with eight doubles, three triples, four home runs and 45 RBI. He was even better against conference foes slashing .500/.609/.942 with seven doubles, two triples, all four of his long balls, and 33 RBI.  

"Preseason honors are great for the player and the institution, and now we need to live up to the heightened expectations," said Wilberforce University Head Baseball Coach Roosevelt Barnes. "Chris has been a force in the middle of our lineup since he stepped on campus. We look forward to watching him to continue to grow as a student-athlete and as a person." 

Wilberforce opens the 2026 season Noon February 4 at Union.
