NEW ORLEANS, LA – Sophomore transfer Kendrick Sherrer continues to make waves for the freshly minted Wilberforce University track & field team.  

The sprinter is the first Bulldogs track athlete to earn recognition from the HBCUAC as he picked up Newcomer of the Week honors, the conference announced today.  

Sherrer became the first Bulldog in program history to win an event, capturing the 200-meter dash title at the Northeast Ohio Open on Friday. Competing against a field that included four Division I and 17 Division II athletes, the Cincinnati native posted a winning time of 21.51. 

Sherrer also turned in a strong performance in the 100-meter dash, placing fourth with a time of 10.95 to close out his meet.
