Sherrer Makes History
AKRON, Ohio – Sophomore transfer Kendrick Sherrer continues to make an immediate impact on Wilberforce University's first-year track & field program.
The sprinter became the first Bulldog in program history to win an event, capturing the 200-meter dash title at the Northeast Ohio Open on Friday. Competing against a field that included four Division I and 17 Division II athletes, the Cincinnati native posted a winning time of 21.51.
Sherrer also turned in a strong performance in the 100-meter dash, placing fourth with a time of 10.95 to close out his meet.
Freshman Devin Hannah competed in both sprint events, recording times of 11.82 in the 100-meter and 23.84 in the 200-meter. Freshman Mario Seats represented the Bulldogs in the middle distance, finishing the 800-meter run in 2:05.06.
